Project Description
The Muskoka Opera Festival gave me a small budget to produce the operetta ‘The Bat’ or better Die Fledermaus’ by Johann Strauss. I started to ask four singers, me included, to sing the operetta. I will sing the role of Rosalinde. Prof. John Rea from McGill University and his student Chris Goddard write a transcription and re-compose the whole operetta for harp and cello. The dialogues and the staging will be done by myself.
For this project I also asked some funding with the help of J’imagine. Let’s cross our fingers that we get a little bit more money since the whole project is sponsored by private donors.
This piece will be the opening of the festival on August, 18th 2014 in Bracebridge.
